CAM Management Solutions is a new UK-based company with
a strong pedigree. Sister company CA Technology is a leader
in the Australian local government sector, with its interplan® solution – which
provides a single system for strategic, corporate, business
and service level planning – holding a 60 per cent
share of the national strategic planning and performance
management software market.
Now interplan® and PES – a web-based system for personnel evaluation management and development of employees – plus consultancy and other services are available in the UK through CAM Management Solutions, which was established in Brighton in autumn 2007, with support from Artaius.
Artaius dealt with a range of issues on CAM Management Solutions’ behalf, including incorporation, dealing with HM Revenue & Customs, registering for VAT, opening bank accounts and setting up payroll and other internal financial systems.
Glenrick White, who joined CAM Management Systems in February 2008 as business development manager, said: “Essentially, Artaius helped us to tick all the boxes that we needed to tick. Now they continue to support us with services including bookkeeping, payroll administration, VAT processing and some banking and will be sorting out our end of year returns for us.”
Glenrick met with the Artaius team face-to-face once he came into post, to discuss what he needed from them and to arrange the systems the appropriate systems, and now maintains contact by phone and email. He says: “Once we put the procedures into place, everything has been running smoothly, while continuing to evolve.”
Those procedures include Artaius sending Glenrick details of bills due for payment each month. He then authorises the items he wants paid and Artaius does the rest, with a similar process in place for authorisation and payment of expenses.
Glenrick also particularly valued Artaius’ support, which he describes as “creative and helpful”, when CAM Management Solutions switched from another bank to HSBC.
He says: “I can pick up the phone and speak to any one of three contacts at Artaius – in fact, we are constantly speaking. The relationship is very much as though we are a branch office and they are the accounts team in the head office, although I am not sure that an internal accounts department would always be as accommodating as they are!”
CAM Management Solutions has a five-year plan for the UK, which Artaius has helped get off to a smooth start. Glenrick says: “We will be reviewing the arrangement every few months but the service at present is brilliant.”
